It is overwhelming to see the kind of response I receive when I say that I work for an NGO. People around me are awed and start imaging me in some kind of 'Mother Teresa' or ' Florence Nightingale' features. Some even respond immediately to how great I must be to work with an NGO and help others. hey! I pause them. I need to tell them that I serve through my Work. I don't work through my service. It is surprising, but the cult of social organisation employees is still looked up as something where 'free' service is offered.
